Much Anticipated Re-Release of Bestselling Last Gentile Trilogy Slated for January LEBANON, Ore., Nov. 5, 2003 -- Despite a successful initial release of The Last Gentile Trilogy (www.lastgentilebooks.com) earlier this year, author Cary R. Bybee wasn't satisfied. Although his series had a growing fan base, Bybee knew the books could be better -- and more affordable. So he switched publishing companies and in January 2004 will re-release all three books of his end-of-times fiction series, complete with extensive edits, lower prices, and new covers designed by Steve Gardner of His Image PixelWorks, whose art graces the covers of books by some of the industry's biggest authors, including Max Lucado. Despite its early challenges, The Last Gentile Trilogy landed on the list of the top 5 bestselling Christian fiction trilogies at both Amazon and Barnes & Noble.com back in June. It's easy to see why: The Last Gentile (ISBN 09744398-00 & 09744398-19), Deacon's Horn (ISBN 09744398-35 & 09744398-43) and The Final Witness (ISBN 09744398-6X & 09744398-78) stunned fans of the genre when the books were simultaneously released earlier this year. Not only was the entire story of The Last Gentile told in just three novels, but it was the most believable portrayal yet of the events leading up to Armageddon. Now, says Bybee, the books' quality is more in line with their message, and their prices should attract even more readers. But it nearly took a miracle to get to this point. "I've spent my career in science, not literature. My background made the five-year research process for these books easier, but it didn't prepare me for the world of publishing," Bybee explained. "I signed on with a vanity publisher and learned the hard way that the books weren't ready for the big time, plus they were priced out of the market." Bybee began receiving feedback from readers saying they loved the storylines and characters but wanted better editing and lower prices. He realized he needed more control over the publishing process, so he cut ties with his original publisher and got to work. The end result should have people glued to the page when the trilogy hits Amazon, Barnes & Noble.com and other retailers early next year. That's because The Last Gentile Trilogy isn't just a scientifically and biblically accurate account of the last days of the human race and the final battle between good and evil, though that would probably be enough to set it apart from most other series of its kind. Indeed, Bybee's work is a riveting example of the end-of-times novel done right, reminiscent of classic romances, action/adventure thrillers, supernatural thrillers and family dramas all rolled up in one. Once fiction readers hear about the books' overhaul, Bybee expects the trilogy to climb the bestseller lists. "This is an exciting time," he said. "I finally have three books that do the subject matter justice. I can't wait to see what happens next." CONTACT: ### Home
