First-time Author Simultaneously Releases All Three Books of New Christian Trilogy

LEBANON, OR, Apr. 23, 2003 - Hoping to attract fans of the bestselling Left Behind® series, an Oregon author has written a Christian fiction trilogy based on biblical prophecy in the Book of Revelation. The Last Gentile trilogy tells the story of the events leading up to the Rapture, the Antichrist's rise to power and violent rule during the seven-year tribulation, and Christ's second coming. The series lays out the events of Revelation in believable detail - from an asteroid collision with Earth and the resulting nuclear winter, to changes in world politics that fulfill Bible prophecy. Woven throughout the books are stories of love, redemption, and courage in the face of persecution.

The trilogy is a change in direction for Bybee, an engineer and scientist with Hewlett-Packard Co., who began writing the books after completing a year-long study of the Book of Revelation. Although he had never thought of writing fiction, Bybee felt compelled to tell the story of The Last Gentile.

"The Last Gentile literally kept me up at night," Bybee says. "The characters and story ideas just kept coming to me until I had no choice but to outline them. From there it only made sense to start researching and writing these books."

Bybee spent the next several years scrutinizing the prophecy laid out in the final book of the Bible. His scientific background enabled him to create plausible events based on the Book of Revelation. In fact, aside from the characters of The Last Gentile, Deacon's Horn and The Final Witness, Bybee says the Last Gentile trilogy is more non-fiction than fiction - deeply rooted in scientific fact and biblical truth.

Bybee, who has never read the Left Behind books, decided to release all three of his books at once after talking to Left Behind fans. "What I kept hearing was that people were missing the satisfaction of reading the end of the story," Bybee explains. "They loved the books, but after the first five or six, many began to feel like there was no end in sight."
